Drops of FAYNAN Pure Grapeseed Oil on the fingertips in morning light

Grapeseed Oil for Skin: How to Use It

Grapeseed oil is a fine, light-feeling oil pressed from the seeds of the grape. On the skin, use two or three drops pressed onto a clean face, a little smoothed over damp skin after a shower, or use it as the carrier for an essential oil blend. It is the lightest oil in our collection, which makes it a natural choice for the morning.

What is grapeseed oil?

Grapes (Vitis vinifera) have been grown across the Levant for thousands of years, from the hills of Hebron to the Bekaa Valley. Inside each fruit are a few small seeds, and pressed, they give a pale, fine oil. FAYNAN Pure Grapeseed Oil is a single ingredient, with nothing added.

How to use it on your face

  1. Cleanse: start with clean skin.
  2. Warm: place two or three drops on your fingertips.
  3. Press: press gently over cheeks, forehead and chin, avoiding the eye area.
  4. Morning: let it settle for a minute, then apply your usual sun protection. Grapeseed oil is not a sunscreen.

Skin feels soft and supple, with a light, silky finish.

On the body

After a shower, pat your skin lightly and smooth a few drops over arms and legs while it is still damp. Because it is so light, grapeseed suits warm weather and anyone who dislikes a rich feel. For drier areas, a richer oil such as wheat germ may suit better. The full method is in How to Use Body Oil After the Shower.

As a carrier for blends

Its light feel and soft scent let an essential oil come through. Add one drop of essential oil per teaspoon (5 mL) of grapeseed oil:

On hair ends

A single drop warmed between your palms and smoothed through dry ends gives a soft shine without weight. It is a good finishing drop for fine hair; see Hair Oiling for Fine Hair.
