THE RITUAL
Before the wash, the ritual.
A pre-wash ritual is simple: oil on dry hair and scalp, a short rest, then shampoo. Here is how to make it yours.

FOUR STEPS
How to use it.
Apply
On dry hair, apply a small amount to the scalp section by section, then smooth the rest through the lengths and ends. Start with less; you can always add more.
Massage
Massage the scalp gently with your fingertips, then distribute through lengths and ends so hair is lightly coated, not saturated.
Rest
Leave for approximately 20–30 minutes. Loosely clip hair up or wrap it in a towel, and take the time for yourself.
Wash
Shampoo thoroughly. Depending on your hair type and the amount used, a second shampoo may be needed. Condition as usual.
HOW MUCH
Find your measure.
- Short or fine hair: a few drops, focused on the scalp and mid-lengths.
- Shoulder-length hair: a little more, worked evenly through the lengths.
- Long, thick, curly or coily hair: work in sections and add as needed.
- If hair feels coated after washing: use less next time, or shampoo twice.
A few drops. Twenty to thirty minutes. A quieter way to begin wash day.
RITUAL NOTES
Good to know.
- Use on dry hair before shampoo, on your usual wash days. It is not a leave-in.
- Before first use, test on a small area of skin. Avoid contact with eyes.
- Color-treated or recently bleached hair: test on a small, discreet strand first.
- Contains sesame and wild pistachio (a tree nut). Do not use if you are allergic to tree nuts.
