Pomegranate peel powder mixed with rose water into a smooth mask in a ceramic bowl

How to Make a Pomegranate Peel Powder Face Mask

In many Middle Eastern homes, nothing from the pomegranate goes to waste. The seeds are eaten, the juice is pressed, and the rind is dried in the sun. Ground into a fine powder, that rind becomes one of the simplest botanical masks there is.

What is pomegranate peel powder?

It is the dried outer rind of the pomegranate (Punica granatum), finely ground. FAYNAN Pure Pomegranate Peel Powder is a single ingredient, with no added fragrance. Mixed into a paste, it leaves skin feeling fresh, clean and smoother.

Three simple mixes

Each uses one teaspoon of powder. Add the liquid a little at a time until the paste is smooth and spreadable.

Mix With Feel
Fresh Rose water Light and refreshing
Creamy Plain yogurt Soft and cooling
Comforting Honey, loosened with a few drops of water Rich and smooth

How to use it

  1. Cleanse: start with clean skin.
  2. Mix: stir one teaspoon of powder with your chosen liquid in a small bowl.
  3. Apply: spread an even layer over the face, avoiding the eye area and lips.
  4. Rest: leave for about 10 minutes.
  5. Rinse: rinse with lukewarm water, using gentle circular movements, then pat dry.

Skin feels clean and fresh, and looks smoother and more even in texture.

How often

Once or twice a week is enough. More is not better: a mask is a ritual, not a daily step.

Finish with a face oil

After rinsing, press two or three drops of a face oil onto the skin. Pure Pomegranate Seed Oil completes the pomegranate ritual; Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Jojoba Oil are lighter choices. See An Evening Face Oil Ritual.

Another botanical mask: Sidr

Sidr leaf powder can be used the same way: a teaspoon stirred with water or rose water, left on for about 10 minutes, then rinsed. Read What Is Sidr? or shop Pure Sidr Leaf Powder.

On wash day, too

A spoonful of pomegranate peel powder can be stirred into a Sidr paste for the hair. See How to Use Sidr Powder for Hair.

A few things to keep in mind

  • Test on a small area of skin before first use.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes; if it happens, rinse well with water.
  • Do not apply to broken or irritated skin.
  • The natural color may mark light towels and fabrics.
  • If mixing with henna for the hair, it may change the color result: strand test first.
  • For external cosmetic use only. Not for consumption.
  • Reseal the pouch after each use and keep it dry.
